About the songs:

These spiritual uplifting, inspirational songs were written by Sylvia Partridge from the deep places of the heart and are performed by a variety of excellent musicians.

I Love You Dear is a timeless love song that will take you back to the days of your first pure breathless and enthusiastic love. Winning first place in the Kaua’i Composers Contest in 2003, this inspirational song is sung by the gifted Hawaiian singer Manulele Dudoit accompanied by Mike Smith on guitar playing a bossa nova rhythm and Randy Carnevali on bass.

Beautiful Child is about the warmth and guidance of love that arises within us when our minds are focused on light instead of darkness. The decision to focus on light is described in the song as the sun in our hearts rising early today. Accepting light as our way can be quite radical, considering the constant stream of negative information that seems to be coming at us not only from the outside world but also from our own inner thoughts, which can get quite dicey. Sung by Manulele, this spiritual uplifting song won first place in the Kaua’i Composers Contest in 2004. Steve Dubey is on harmonica, Kekai Chock on guitar, Sylvia Partridge on ukulele, and Koko Kaneali’i on bass. “I woke up at 3AM one morning and the words came to me. I wrote them down and sat at the keyboard working out the chords. It happened quite fast and I resisted all temptations to write more words or music. I love it as it is.”

Maluhia is a peace song– the peace that comes from forgiveness and from stopping our minds, letting go of the mental chatter, criticisms, and judgments that seem to rattle around in our heads at times, keeping us in a state of agitation. Maluhia is the Hawaiian word for peace. Accepted and performed at the Kaua’i Composers Contest in 2005, this inspirational song is sung by Dolly Kanekuni, a talented professional singer and voice teacher - Michael Ruff is on piano, Kekai Chock on guitar, Sylvia Partridge on ukelele, and Trey Thompson on bass.

Walking Home is a song about being called to our home in love at the same time that we are walking towards it, surrounded by many people, all alive to the need for love and acceptance and all being drawn together. Accepted and performed at the Kaua’i Composers Contest in 2005, this spiritual uplifting song was sung by Dolly Kanekuni, with Kirk Smart on guitar and ukelele, Ed Blanchet and Sylvia Partridge on ukulele, and Trey Thompson on bass.

The CD is named Walking Home because the intention is to share the love that we all have in common – being in the love is like being at home – it’s a feeling of sharing and belonging and togetherness and joy – I have a strong feeling that we’re all looking for love, just in different ways.
